Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital Wins NRC Picker Innovative Best Practice Award

NRC Picker has selected client Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital of Whittier, CA as a recipient of its second annual Innovative Best Practice award.

NRC Picker developed the award to call attention to outstanding efforts by an organization to improve the totality of care, as seen through the eyes of patients.

“NRC Picker congratulates Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital for earning the Innovative Best Practice award and being among our top performing clients,” said Susan L. Henricks, President and COO of National Research Corporation.

Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital received the award at NRC Picker’s 17th Annual Symposium on Patient-Centered Carein Salt Lake City, UT on Sept. 27, 2011.

The award is bestowed to the client who best captures and details a patient-centered best practice implemented within their organization. NRC Picker defines a best practice in patient-centered care as an innovative use of resources with documented results of significant improvement in cost, quality, safety or additional factors that affect the health of an organization and its patients. Entries are judged on the program’s innovation and execution, as well as the resulting improvement.

“This award is designed to honor an organization’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of patient-centered care, through the patient’s eyes – and that’s exactly what Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital has done,” Henricks said. “As a partner in this improvement journey, we are proud of the significant stridesPIH has made in providing exceptional care for patients and families.”

Congratulations to Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital from everyone at NRC Picker!
