 AHRQ DB Report

AHRQ released the 2008 Comparative Database Report which shows that one of the most important things a hospital can do to improve its culture of patient safety is to focus on how it responds to medical errors made by staff. The new report analyzes data provided by 519 hospitals that administered the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture to more than 160,000 staff nationwide.

NRC Picker’s research demonstrates the interactive relationship between the perceptions and experiences of employees and the patient experience.  Committed employees provide more patient-centered care, which results in higher patient experience scores.

Research also shows a relationship between organizations that provide patient-centered care and those with committed employees.

Our employee experience instrument design incorporates traditional human resources components and provides an assessment of the organization’s patient care environment from the provider’s perspective.
